Lisa Davey for House District 67
Lisa Davey for House District 67

Meet Lisa

Major Lisa Davey (Army Retired) spent 24 years combined as a Military Police Officer and Logistics officer and has spent another 12 years of public service working with the South Carolina Department of Corrections assisting young adult
felons in their re-entry into the community by providing resources such as education, job placement, drug treatment and mental health treatment, with a strong success rate and low recidivism for Sumter, Lee and Clarendon counties.

She also worked at the Sumter Police Department as a Digital Forensic Analyst and the Richland County Sheriff's Department as the Operations Manager for the 911 transition.

Lisa is not a politician. She is running for House of Representatives District 67 to give the people of Sumter a renewed voice, because our current Representative is working to take away the rights of his constituents and it is time we restore our community values.
Lisa was born during the struggle for civil rights and women’s rights and she was greatly influenced by the accomplishments of the leaders who brought expanded laws to protect everyone, equally.

She has a sense of duty to run for office now specifically because lawmakers are working to take away a women’s right to make decisions about her own body and health (H. 3457 and S. 323), and they are working to repeal our current state law enforcing DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) (H. 3927) which lawmakers are attempting to take away opportunities and remove diverse viewpoints, which contributes to a more equitable society and opportunities for everyone. These dangerous house bills are supported by our current District 67 Representative, and do not represent most voters in Sumter.

Major Davey, a combat veteran is not afraid to fight to address and resolve the issues that South Carolinian's have been troubled with for decades, issues that lawmakers have essentially ignored: Reducing Crime, Improving Education for our children, and making our roads safer. These must become the highest priorities to improve our state, and in turn, grow our economy.

Lisa has a Bachelors Degree in Sociology/Correctional Administration from Kansas State University, a Master’s in Management from Webster University and has completed over 200 hours toward her Ph. D. in Public Policy and Administration with Walden University. She is the recipient of the U.S Army
General MacArthur Leadership Award presented at the Pentagon. She is currently the Sumter County Executive Committeewoman for the South Carolina Democratic Party. She is a supporter of the ACLU, the Southern Poverty Law Center, a member of the Sumter Branch of the NAACP, and the Sumter Pride Alliance. Lisa is also a Commissioner in South Carolina.

Lisa is married to Colonel Michael Davey (Army Retired). They have one son, Brandon.
